Links Added

I've added a few links to my blog tonight. It was easier than actually writing a new blog. Sometimes I'm a bit lazy......perhaps a good reason to add these links. We all tend to be a bit lazy at times, especially when it comes to exploring theological issues. Anyway, I hope these links will be a help to you......maybe they will encourage you to dig deeper than you have before. Just scroll down.

Political Correctness

I got this definition from a grouchy old cripple:

Political Correctness

"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional illogical liberal minority & rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous liberal press which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." ---This definition has been attributed to students at Texas A&M University.

The Problem of Christmas

here's another one I composed....................hope you like it

The Problem of Christmas

A needy race that does not know
The depth of need or what they owe
To One so perfect, holy, good,
Once face to face with Him they stood,
Who through the fall, did curse and bless
And set the course for righteousness.
Though curse was swift in hobbled man
At selfsame time revealed His plan,
In sweat and toil, pain in birth
The Son of man would restore worth.
So many silent years have passed,
The promised one had come at last,
The woman’s seed, yet born of God
Had come to tread the cursed sod.
Now where He walked and what He said,
And where He died and how He bled,
Fulfilled the promise and the curse
And gave the gift for which no verse
Could ever fully comprehend
How everlasting is the end
Of One whose promise is to bring
The glory back unto the king.

Love

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, it always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1Cor. 13:4-7

I guess it's true

Joey's Lullaby

.....here's one by yours truly.

Joey's Lullaby

A stirring of a memory lost, revives again, we count the cost
Of sleepless nights, dreams unfulfilled, a deep, rich soil left untilled.

The past is gone, we know this all too well, and yet it seems
That memory lost reminds us now of long lost painful dreams.

The wounds of youth, how deep----how deep they seemed to go
Have given way to healing, leaving hard, wide scars to show.

Unseen by some, the scars we bear, we know we’ll never lose,
Beneath the skin and to the bone, such hideous tattoos.

Though fading now, they still remain, emblems of a dying pain,
No power in themselves contain, until we call them up again.

And all comes back----torrential flood of anger, tyranny and blood,
For one who loved you swept away the very ground on which you stood.

Foundation dashed and hearts left broken, in the silence now are spoken
Words of anguish, feeding flames of souls of children, souls with names

Whose one request is to forget the memories that plague them yet ----
But naught comes forth, despair gives birth to unforgiving songs of dearth.

The melody we know too well, and lyrics echoing of hell,
Relentless lullabies of grief, in sleepless nights without relief.

Now morning comes and memory goes, prepared to face a day of woes,
But evening comes again to bring an old familiar song to sing.

Words from the winds

Funny how words have no physical substance or mass, yet they are weighty......weightier than we know. We toss them about as if there were no consequence in the chain of cause and effect. In fact, we usually don't think in these terms; we simply spew them out. We like to say that talk is cheap, and I suppose it is if we only deal with the superficial or lack sincerity. (Gee, I'm beginning to scare myself here). I'm new to the world of blogging, and for less than 2 cents I can post my thoughts in the marketplace of ideas.....not a bad deal at all.
